We are delighted to welcome our new Executive Chef Richard Birch to the team. Richard is a protg of Prue Leiths restaurant in Londons Notting Hill Gate and was in residence there when it was awarded its Michelin star.

He has also worked with Chef Rowley Leigh in London alongside Philip Reeve and most recently was Head Chef at Samphire on the Isle of Man. His new role at Coast Bar & Brasserie will see him working alongside Head Chef Andy Coulson, creating seasonal menus and also showcasing the Coast fine-dining experience through Coast Outside, the outside catering arm of the business.

Richard, who is an enthusiastic kite surfer his spare time, is a great fan of Prue Leiths fresh, simple and contemporary approach to food. He is looking forward to working with local Manx produce and says his test for any dish is would they be happy with this in Prues kitchen?
